Snow Day Fun
Need some snow day fun? There is a Pattern Block applet in Geometry (6-8) of the Virtual Manipulatives web site, as Marc pointed this out in his blog. You could make a cool design. If you wanted, you could limit it only to certain pieces, such as tan, orange, blue and green, etc.

ReplyDeleteThis seems like an excellent activity to use with seventh or eighth children. It forces them to form ratios and calculate area. In addition, students are expected to think deeply about the problem when they are asked to create a convincing argument.
